Established in 2014 by Occupational Therapist Sue Hillan, Neuro Independence Ltd
is based on the Wirral, Merseyside.
We provide independent Occupational Therapy services specialising in acquired brain injury
assessment and rehabilitation
in the North West of England and North Wales.
As a small and enthusiastic team of Occupational Therapists and Assistants we are committed to using our 30 plus years of knowledge, skill and experience in brain injury rehabilitation to create bespoke therapy programmes to help our clients optimise recovery, independence and wellbeing- essentially to re-establish skills for living their lives.
We are HCPC registered therapists, members of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Sections for Neurology and Independent Practice. We maintain our continued professional development and use evidence based approaches to guide our practice. We have enhanced DBS checks.
Our clients present with a wide range of symptoms and experiences after acquiring brain injuries from trauma, strokes, tumours and other complex neurological conditions. Some may be early on in their recovery through to others who are many years on in their rehabilitation journey. Many symptoms experienced have similarities but all have a unique impact on each person's life.
We recognise the importance of actively listening to our clients in order to understand their hopes, goals and appreciate their true individuality, ensuring that therapy focuses on and reflects what is important for each person.
Our assessments and therapy sessions are carried out in the most relevant environment for each client; this could be at home, in their local community, in educational or vocational settings.
